Asha Jyothi, a non profitable organization founded by Fr. Bali Reddy SVD in 2006. One of its branch is located in pragnapur village, Gajwel Mandal, Medak District, Andhra Pradesh.
The objective of Asha Jyothi is to take care of abandoned HIV/AIDS patients and to provide palliative care and support to them. It also ensures the prevention and spread of this deadly desease.
The 50 beds available are always full. They are given free medicines, food and counselling. Patients find solace and live the rest of their lives in peace and serenity. A team of doctors are assisted by social workers and other dedicated people who devote themselves to caring of these terminally ill.
18 children infected with HIV/AIDS and cared for at Asha Jyothi, a beatiful home is built for the children in the premises of asha jyothi and they study in the nearby schools at Pragnapur. T Laxman Gardens responded for this social cause and provided little token of appreciation to this Asha Jyothi organization by providing them grocery needs sufficient for a month.
